This session will walk participants through essential elements of assessment design in a standards-based or target-based reporting system. Educators often struggle to view assessments as a method of evidence gathering against standards or learning targets and often look for practical examples to work from. This interactive session will provide examples of how to take learning targets and create assessments that allow for participants to use the evidence from the assessment to reach conclusions on student proficiency. Educators attending this session will have the opportunity to work with other participants and will walk out with sample assessment questions that will help guide their work when they return back to their districts.
